Is it worth abstaining? Pros and cons of long-term abstinence for men

Sexologists divide abstinence into voluntary and forced, as well as according to socio-age data. The first group should include teenagers, young boys and girls who have just begun to develop as individuals. Of course, their sexual intercourse is irregular, and the intervals between them can range from several weeks to several months. However, the body requires release, and this manifests itself in nervous behavior, inconsistent actions and psychosis. Experts explain increased irritability by common sperm toxicosis and unsatisfied libido. Energy needs an outlet, and young people begin to go to “deeds.” For example, they greatly exceed the speed when driving a car or motorcycle.

Forced abstinence also occurs in those men who do not have enough money or are naturally shy. The first is to develop the ability to persuade and communicate. It is not at all surprising that men who are successful at work are also successful with women. But you need to fight shyness and work on yourself. This way you will not only find a sexual partner, but also make your way in life. Some experts in psychology do not recognize voluntary abstinence at all; they believe that there are either serious reasons of an external nature or deviations in the psyche.

Sexual abstinence in men: benefit or harm?

Many people believe that if a man has been unable to conceive a child for a long time, he should abstain from sexual intercourse. Then the likelihood of successful conception will greatly increase. This fact is explained by the fact that during sexual abstinence, germ cells accumulate in the man’s body. In some cases this gives positive results. However, this method has opponents who claim that men who regularly have an active sex life have much higher sperm quality than those who refuse intimacy with a woman.

As the results of scientific studies in Israel have shown, abstinence among sperm donors just before donating this fluid significantly reduces its quality. During the experiment, scientists took more than 7 thousand samples of seminal fluid and found that after a long period of abstinence from sex, only its volume increases, but this is not at all a guarantee for successful conception. In addition, sperm motility is greatly reduced.

According to modern medicine, in most cases, abstinence in men causes damage to health. Regular sex life has a positive effect on the endocrine system and strengthens the heart muscle. Sex is especially important for men over 40. Abstinence at this age can lead to the development of congestion, prostatitis, adenoma, and the risk of cancer increases. Healthy sexual relationships are the key to the normal functioning of the cardiovascular system.

Consequences of sexual abstinence for men

The duration of sexual abstinence, first of all, depends on the person himself, his character, habits and way of life. Some consider abstinence to be a period of absence of sexual activity from a month to several years, while for others one night is enough. Scientists have found that the effect of abstinence directly depends on the level of sexual desire and sexual health. It is easy to refuse sex for those men who have a “low” level of sexual desire.

Each sexual act causes physiological changes in the human body, which as a result have a positive effect on subsequent sexual acts. Sexual relationships require skill and training from the psychological side, but this cannot be obtained with sexual abstinence.

Refusal of sexual life can cause congestive prostatitis. Doctors say that the most effective prevention of this disease is frequent ejaculation, since the prostate is cleansed during the process of ejaculation. In addition, to function effectively, the male sexual organ requires oxygen, like other organs. The reproductive organ receives oxygen due to the occurrence of an erection. Over time, the vessels of the penis become clogged with cholesterol, which prevents the normal supply of oxygen, and the activity of male “dignity” decreases. Regular sexual intercourse will help restore the activity of the sexual organ. Abstinence also causes other equally negative processes that lead to a decrease in potency. After just 10-12 days of abstinence, unused sperm begins to split and dissolve, after which it is absorbed by the body, and this has a very negative effect on sperm activity. Regular refusal of sex, even for two days, can negatively affect the health of your future children, as well as your ability to get full satisfaction from sexual contact.

It is also worth noting that approximately 60-80% of neuroses in both men and women arise due to the fact that they do not pay enough attention to sexual relationships. For the same reason, there is a decrease in performance by 70-80%. After prolonged abstinence, a man’s sexual intercourse is reduced, but with repeated contacts this function is restored. The period of return to the usual mode of sexual activity is individual for everyone; for some it can be half an hour, and for others a week. It is better not to deprive yourself of sexual pleasure, especially since it has been proven that with abstinence a person becomes depressed, irritable, lethargic and depressed. The only significant reason could be separation from your wife or girlfriend.

The Rwandan Genocide of 1994 was a campaign of massacres of Tutsis and moderate Hutus by Hutus. As well as the massacres of Hutus by the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) against Tutsis. On the Hutu side, it was carried out by the Hutu extremist paramilitary groups Interahamwe and Impuzamugambi in Rwanda with the active support of sympathizers from ordinary citizens with the knowledge and instructions of the country's authorities.

The murder rate was five times higher than the murder rate in German concentration camps during World War II. The offensive of the Rwandan Tutsi Patriotic Front put an end to the killing of Tutsis.

10 Hutu decrees

Every Hutu should know that a Tutsi woman, wherever she is, has the interests of her ethnic group at heart. Therefore, a Hutu who marries a Tutsi woman, befriends a Tutsi woman, or keeps a Tutsi as a secretary or concubine will be considered a traitor.
Every Hutu should remember that the daughters of our tribe are more conscious of their roles as wives and mothers. They are more beautiful, honest and efficient as secretaries.
Hutu women, be vigilant, try to reason with your husbands, brothers and sons.
Every Hutu should know that Tutsis are deceitful in transactions. His only goal is the superiority of his ethnic group. Therefore, every Hutu who
- is a business partner of a Tutsi
- who invests money in the Tutsi project
- who lends or lends money to Tutsis
- who helps Tutsis in business by issuing licenses and so on.
Hutus should occupy all strategic positions in politics, economics, and law enforcement.
In education, the majority of teachers and students must be Hutu.
The Rwandan armed forces will be staffed exclusively by Hutu representatives.
The Hutus must stop feeling sorry for the Tutsis.
The Hutus must be united in the fight against the Tutsis.
Every Hutu must spread the Hutu ideology. A Hutu who tries to stop his brothers from spreading the Hutu ideology is considered a traitor.

Rwandan society has traditionally consisted of two castes: the privileged minority of the Tutsi people and the overwhelming majority of the Hutu people, although a number of researchers have expressed doubts about the advisability of dividing Tutsis and Hutus along ethnic lines and point to the fact that during the period of Belgian control over Rwanda, the decision to classify a particular citizen in Tutsi or Hutu it was carried out on the basis of property.

Tutsis and Hutus speak the same language, but theoretically they have noticeable racial differences, greatly smoothed out by many years of assimilation. Until 1959, the status quo remained, but as a result of a period of mass unrest, the Hutus gained administrative control. During the period of increasing economic difficulties, which coincided with the intensification of the Tutsi-based rebel movement known as the Rwandan Patriotic Front, the process of demonizing Tutsis in the media began in 1990, especially in the newspaper Kangura (Wake up!), which published all sorts of Speculation about a global Tutsi conspiracy focused on the brutality of RPF militants, and some reports were deliberately fabricated, such as the case of a Hutu woman beaten to death with hammers in 1993 or the capture of Tutsi spies near the Burundian border.

Chronicle

On April 6, 1994, while approaching Kigali, a plane carrying Rwandan President Juvenal Habyarimana and Burundi President Ntaryamira was shot down by a MANPADS. The plane was returning from Tanzania, where both presidents participated in an international conference

Prime Minister Agata Uwilingiyimana was assassinated the next day, April 7. On the morning of this day, 10 Belgian and 5 Ghanaian UN peacekeepers guarding the Prime Minister's house were surrounded by soldiers of the Rwandan presidential guard. After a short standoff, the Belgian military received an order via radio from their commander to submit to the demands of the attackers and lay down their arms. Seeing that the peacekeepers guarding her were disarmed, Prime Minister Uwilingiyimana with her husband, children and several accompanying people tried to hide on the territory of the American embassy. However, soldiers and militants from the youth branch of the ruling party, known as Interahamwe, found and brutally killed the prime minister, her husband and several other people. Miraculously, only her children survived, hidden by one of the UN employees.

The fate of the surrendered Belgian UN soldiers was also decided by the militants, whose leadership considered it necessary to neutralize the peacekeeping contingent and chose the method of dealing with members of the contingent that had worked well in Somalia. The Interahamwe militants initially suspected the Belgian contingent of the UN forces of “sympathy” for the Tutsis. Moreover, in the past, Rwanda was a colony of Belgium and many were not averse to reckoning with the former “colonizers”. According to eyewitnesses, the brutal militants first castrated all the Belgians, then stuffed the severed genitals into their mouths and, after brutal torture and humiliation, shot them dead

State radio and a private station affiliated with it, known as “A Thousand Hills” (Radio Television Libre des Mille Collines), heated up the situation with calls for the murder of Tutsis and read out lists of potentially dangerous persons, local burgomasters organized work to identify and kill them. Through administrative methods, ordinary citizens were also involved in organizing the campaign of mass murder, and many Tutsis were killed by their neighbors. The murder weapon was mainly a bladed weapon (machete). The most brutal scenes took place in places where refugees were temporarily concentrated in schools and churches.

1994, April 11 - murder of 2,000 Tutsis at the Don Bosco school (Kigali), after the evacuation of Belgian peacekeepers.
1994 April 21 - The International Red Cross reports possible executions of hundreds of thousands of civilians.
1994, April 22 - massacre of 5,000 Tutsis at Sovu Monastery.
The United States did not intervene in the conflict, fearing a repetition of the events of 1993 in Somalia.
1994, July 4 - troops of the Rwandan Patriotic Front entered the capital. 2 million Hutus, fearing retribution for the genocide (there were 30 thousand people in the paramilitary forces), and most of the genocide by the Tutsis, left the country.

International Crimes Tribunal for Rwanda

In November 1994, the International Crimes Tribunal for Rwanda began operating in Tanzania. Among those under investigation are the organizers and instigators of the mass extermination of Rwandan citizens in the spring of 1994, among whom are mainly former officials of the ruling regime. In particular, former Prime Minister Jean Kambanda was sentenced to life for crimes against humanity. Among the proven episodes was the encouragement of misanthropic propaganda by the state radio station RTLM, which called for the destruction of Tutsi citizens.

In December 1999, George Rutagande, who in 1994 led the Interahamwe (the youth wing of the then ruling Republican National Movement for the Development of Democracy) party, was sentenced to life imprisonment. In October 1995, Rutagande was arrested.

On September 1, 2003, the case of Emmanuel Ndindabhizi, who was Rwanda's Minister of Finance in 1994, was heard. According to the police, he is involved in the massacre of people in Kibuye Prefecture. E. Ndindabahizi personally ordered the killings, distributed weapons to Hutu volunteers and was present during the attacks and beatings. According to witnesses, he stated: “A lot of Tutsis pass through here, why don’t you kill them?”, “Are you killing Tutsi women who are married to Hutus? ...Go and kill them. They can poison you."

The role of the international tribunal is controversial in Rwanda, since trials are very lengthy and defendants cannot be punished with the death penalty. For trials of persons outside the jurisdiction of the tribunal, which tries only the most important organizers of the genocide, the country has created a system of local courts that have handed down at least 100 death sentences.

Prime Minister Agata Uwilingiyimana was five months pregnant when she was assassinated at her residence. The rebels ripped open her stomach.

43 1-year-old Mukarurinda Alice, who lost her entire family and an arm during the massacre, lives with the man who injured her.

42 -year-old Alfonsina Mukamfizi, who miraculously survived the genocide, the rest of her family were killed

R.S

Paul Kagame, the President of Rwanda, is very beloved here because he was the leader of the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), which in 1994, as a result of a civil war, seized power in the country and stopped the genocide of the Tutsi.

After the RPF came to power, Kagame was the Minister of Defense, but in fact it was he who led the country. Then in 2000 he was elected president, and in 2010 he was elected to a second term. He miraculously managed to restore the country's strength and economy. For example, since 2005, the country's GDP has doubled, and the country's population has become 100% provided with food. Technology began to develop at a rapid pace, and the government managed to attract many foreign investors to the country. Kagame actively fought corruption and strengthened government power structures well. He developed trade relations with neighboring countries and signed a common market agreement with them. Under his rule, women stopped being discriminated against and began to participate in the political life of the country.

Most of the population is proud of their president, but there are also those who fear and criticize him. The problem is that the opposition has practically disappeared in the country. That is, it did not completely disappear, but simply many of its representatives ended up in prison. There were also reports that during the 2010 election campaign, some people were killed or arrested - this is also associated with political opposition to the president. By the way, in 2010, in addition to Kagame, three more people from different parties participated in the elections, and he then spoke a lot about the fact that there are free elections in Rwanda and that citizens themselves have the right to choose their own destiny. But even here, critics noted that these three parties provide great support to the president and that the three new candidates are his good friends.

Be that as it may, last December in Rwanda a referendum was held on amendments to the constitution that would give Kagame the right to be elected president for a third seven-year term, and then for two more terms of five years. The amendments were adopted with 98% of the votes. New elections will be held next year.

In 2000, when Kagame became president, the Rwandan parliament adopted the country's development program Vision 2020. Its goal is to transform Rwanda into a middle-income, technological country, fight poverty, improve the quality of healthcare and unite the people. Kagame began developing the program in the late 90s. When compiling it, he and his associates relied on the experience of China, Singapore and Thailand. Here are the main points of the program: effective management, high levels of education and health care, development of information technology, development of infrastructure, agriculture and livestock breeding.

As the name implies, the implementation of the program should be completed by 2020, and in 2011 the Rwandan government summed up interim results. Then each of the goals of the plan was assigned one of three statuses: “according to plan,” “ahead” and “lagging behind.” And it turned out that the implementation of 44% of the goals went according to plan, 11% - ahead of schedule, 22% - behind the times. Among the latter were increasing population, fighting poverty and protecting the environment. In 2012, Belgium conducted a study on the implementation of the program and stated that the successes were very impressive. Among the main achievements, she noted the development of education and healthcare and the creation of a favorable environment for doing business.

When it comes to the development agenda, Kagame often begins to argue that Rwanda's main asset is its people: “Our strategy is based on thinking about people. Therefore, when distributing the national budget, we focus on education, healthcare, technology development and innovation. We think about people all the time."

There are many government programs in Rwanda that help the population get out of poverty and live with more or less dignity. For example, there is the Clean Water program, which over 18 years has been able to increase the population’s access to disinfected water by 23%. There is also a program through which all children have the opportunity to go to primary school. In 2006, a program was launched with a name something like “A cow for every home.” Thanks to her, poor families received a cow. Under another program, children from low-income families are given simple laptops.

The President of Rwanda is also active in promoting technology. In particular, he provided the country with a decently functioning Internet and built something like a local Silicon Valley - the kLab information and communication technology center. Its specialists develop online games and IT technologies.

I am such a person that I cannot live in peace and abstaining from sex became my next experiment, which I decided to conduct on my spirit and body.

I have already written on my blog that asceticism plays a significant role in achieving goals. Since I have goals, I have already taken upon myself the voluntary asceticism of getting up early (I get up at 5-5.30) and do exercises in the morning.

I understand that many people reading this article will probably giggle, saying, what kind of asceticism is this, getting up early and exercising, if only you slept on nails, that’s asceticism. Nevertheless, the promises I make to myself are very good discipline, help me not to slide back to my previous amoebic state and greatly increase my self-esteem.

However, it must be admitted that almost three years of early rises, a healthy lifestyle (refusal of alcohol and tobacco) and a vegetarian diet have not yet brought into my life what it all began for.

The goal of all my ascetics is to build a house and arrange the family estate, according to the principle set out.

The main reason that the dream is still not realized is the financial component, which, no matter how hard I try, does not allow me to make at least some savings.

In my search for what else I could improve in myself, I came to what seems to me to be my main vice - lust for the weaker sex. This passion lived in me since childhood (I’m not exaggerating); already in kindergarten I was quite consciously interested in girls and had a rough idea of what I needed from them.

Youth came in the dashing 90s at the heyday of the sexual revolution of bacchanalia, when any magazines on this topic became available, and the morals of young people were formed on such films as “Little Vera”, “Inter Girl” and the like, where the main positive heroines were prostitutes.

Therefore, my hobby became pathological and all my thoughts revolved only around this topic. No matter what I did, there was always a latent desire in my soul to find a new girl to satisfy.

The fact that I was already married and had children did not stop me in any way - the passion was stronger. Yes, I didn’t see anything supernatural in this. All the men around me lived exactly the same way, the conversations in the smoking room were either about work or about women.

Since even during my wild life I did not stop reading various interesting books, over time, I began to come across sources in which the view on this issue was not just, let’s say, puritanical, but logically and intelligibly explained why a man should not lead yourself like an animal and “love” every person of the opposite sex you like.

The first powerful charge that undermined my confidence that I was living “normally” was Maigret’s book in which Anastasia talked about the culture of relationships between young people during the times.

In short, there was no sex as entertainment at all. There was an act of divine creation, that is, a process that we are now playing with was used by our ancestors only for its intended purpose - to give birth to children.

According to her, during the release of semen, a process invisible to us also occurs in a man - the creation of the spirit of the future person. Anastasia says that due to the fact that people have turned the act of creation into entertainment, they thereby produce daily hosts of unborn souls that are on the subtle plane of the planet. Their suffering is immeasurable! .

I am an impressionable person and this information could not help but be imprinted in my mind, especially since the school physics curriculum gave an idea of the law of conservation of energy, and I understood that there was a basis for this statement and it was quite serious.

However, I did not have the strength to change my behavior and abstain from sex at least for some time; my faithful “friends” dulled my consciousness and returned me to the usual cycle in which I tried to forget about my knowledge and pure aspirations.

Years later, my beloved Hare Krishnas added fuel to the fire, first about the daily routine, and then Khakimov, who, in terms of purity of spirit and morality, is a role model and unquestioned authority for me.

My respect for him is based not so much on the lectures he gives around the world, but on the kind of life this man leads. A unique personality, I don’t know if there is a person living on earth now who is similar in his spiritual power.

Gender relations are a fairly popular topic in Vedic seminars. In the lectures of Torsunov and Khakimov it is covered in sufficient detail. They argue that according to Vedic culture, the essence of intimate life comes down to the fact that sexual relations in the form in which we know them are permissible only between spouses and no more than once a month, and ideally only for conceiving children.

So the mood was so serious that for about a couple of weeks I received no more than 20 penalty push-ups. Agree that during the whole day of working on the beach, just 20 times to take a closer look at women’s charms is an achievement! But by the end of the third week I realized that the number of free throws had increased so much that I couldn’t do push-ups all day so I stopped counting my indiscreet views.

What about physiology, you ask? Now, when a month and a half has passed, I can admit frankly that my gaze is glued to female figures, I can’t take it away, but my mind no longer understands what to do with them, honestly I look, and inside there is such a powerful prohibition that I look and don’t understand why I’m looking, that is, there is no picture of the process and there is no lust or desire to possess either.

In recent days, demons have begun to appear who whisper, “come on, why do you need all this, so is your life bad? Live like everyone else, be happy, take any, that’s all they come here for. Use it while there are tons of them here, choose any one, look how beautiful they are, etc..”

I am only glad for the appearance of these thoughts, I understand that only now have I entered into a real confrontation with the evil spirits that do not allow me to live happily, which have long since launched their lustful tentacles into my thoughts, into my insides, and it is she who is now furious with hunger, this she is not comfortable, and now she will find thousands of reasons for me to stop my asceticism.

My dream and the pleasure of this mental creature are at stake... Who do you think will win? I extended my asceticism at least until the end of summer. I will write about how my experiment will go in additions to this article.

But now I can say unequivocally, abstaining from sex is clearly a beneficial procedure, because my soul sings from the realization that I decided to do such an act. He sings in such a way that I feel an extraordinary and incomprehensible joy from what he has done, as if for a very long time I have been moving towards this very act, as if this is one of the main milestones in my life.

It’s probably funny, but it’s like for the first time I began to feel like a real man!

This concludes my impressions of the first 1.5 months of my asceticism and I look forward to your comments about what you think about this practice, whether you have ever taken such breaks and what they gave you.

Some religious leaders are confident that celibacy is very useful for the full spiritual development of a person. However, psychologists, along with sexologists, think differently. Long-term abstinence has a detrimental effect on a man’s health. To understand how celibacy actually affects a person’s condition, you need to consider all the pros and cons.

Positive points

Some scientists are confident that a decrease in sexual activity is beneficial for a person’s personal fulfillment, because a significant part of the energy that is spent on sexual relations remains unspent during celibacy. As a result, a person uses it in study, work, and creativity. Therefore, both artists and athletes are advised to temporarily abstain from intimacy before important performances.

In addition, reasonable restrictions are really necessary in sexual life. With excessive consumption of seminal fluid and systematically increased energy costs, a whole list of psychological disorders arises, which often leads to neurasthenia. Frequent sexual intercourse worsens the fertilizing function of sperm. This is extremely undesirable for those couples who want to conceive a child.

Temporary sexual abstinence is also useful for renewing the sensual aspect of a relationship. After all, passion flares up with renewed vigor after forced breaks in intimate life.

It should also be noted that theoretically, mystical and spiritual teachings speak of the positive effect of sexual abstinence on spiritual concentration. A person can concentrate better, contemplate, his thoughts become deeper.

For these reasons, sexual restrictions can actually be helpful. But it should be understood that too long celibacy is detrimental to men's health.

Negative influence

The degree of consequences of long-term abstinence is initially related to the person’s temperament and his attitude towards this issue. If a man endures forced celibacy calmly and can go about his business and be completely absorbed in it, then a number of negative consequences will bypass him. But representatives of the stronger sex, who are fixated on sexual activity, become irritable and aggressive in the long-term absence of intimate relationships. People who do not attach much importance to sex react calmly to abstinence. They remain reasonable and reserved.

Male physiology deserves special attention. With prolonged absence of sex, men become predisposed to premature ejaculation. This is not a sign of a disorder or disease. When the rhythm of sexual intimacy normalizes, premature ejaculation goes away. Although sometimes it leaves a number of psychological problems.

One of the consequences of sexual abstinence may be fear of sexual intimacy. This is due to the early ejection of the seed. Men begin to think about the likelihood of impotence. They avoid sexual relations. Although sexologists are sure that it is important to continue intimate acts, but with a regular partner. You can perform several processes of intimacy with a short period of time. A loving woman will be able to understand a man’s temporary difficulties and help him fight them.

It should be noted that masturbation as a replacement for full-fledged sex during forced abstinence is far from a way out of the situation. It only makes things worse. After all, self-satisfaction can form a sustainable habit. As a result, a person will do without a sexual partner in real life, preferring his own fantasies.

Another negative outcome of the forced absence of sexual intercourse is the emergence of interest in various sexual perversions, as well as non-traditional sex. These are the main problems that manifest themselves with prolonged refusal of the process of intimacy.

With a long-term absence of sex, men often suffer from depression. They experience nervous disorders. Abstinence has a particularly bad effect on the mental, physical activity and mood of young men. They often experience restlessness at night, insomnia, frequent emissions, and sexual neuroses.

In general, sexual contacts are an integral part of the life of a modern person. They provide an opportunity for physiological and emotional relief. The process of intimacy has a positive effect on well-being. However, you don't have to choose to be promiscuous. After all, this is a big risk of contracting infectious venereal diseases.

The problem of sexual abstinence is, in fact, very individual. Its decision is determined by the strength of sexual desire, as well as the level of excitability. Some adult men can abstain from sex for a year without any problems and experience no negative consequences. But this doesn't happen often. As a rule, men with a strong sexual constitution find it difficult to endure periods of sexual abstinence.

When deciding to limit intimacy, it is important to take into account the person’s character, his temperament, state of health, and inclinations. Within reasonable limits, sexual abstinence will be beneficial. However, long-term celibacy will bring a number of negative consequences into a man’s life. Therefore, it is not recommended to practice limiting sexual contacts directly in family life without compelling reasons. After all, abstinence, as a rule, has a negative impact on the relationship between partners. It weakens the connection between them. As a result, there is a desire to seek solace or entertainment on the side.

Of course, sex is not the most important thing in life. However, it plays an important role in modern relationships. This is one of the natural and basic human instincts. Therefore, this aspect of romantic relationships must be given due attention.

Although having sex has its benefits, sometimes men and women abstain from it. Ladies tolerate this practice much easier, but abstinence for men - benefits and harms - is a very interesting and relevant topic, which is the subject of discussion by many individuals.

Is it beneficial for men to abstain, how long to do it so as not to harm their health, and how to abstain correctly - this is worth taking a closer look at. Knowing such important nuances, you can not only protect yourself from health problems, but also make your health much stronger.

Sexual abstinence among men who live with a woman is not such a common occurrence. If this process is observed, then it lasts only a couple of days, which can be considered the absolute norm. If a man abstains from sexual intercourse for more than a week or even longer, then this cannot be considered a normal condition; it is most likely pathological. Of course, we are not talking about the need to refrain from sexual intercourse due to various injuries or diseases; here we mean abstinence from absolutely healthy, young men.

How does abstinence affect men?

Each person’s body is a unique structure, so long-term abstinence is the norm for some, but brings great harm to others. Of course, in everything, as in the process of abstaining from sexual intercourse, a golden mean must be noted, because only then can the risk of additional problems be avoided. Abstinence can make a man calmer or, on the contrary, irritable, cause problems or restore health.

Do you think abstinence is harmful for men?

YesNo

Advantages and disadvantages

If we talk about such a topic as the benefits of abstinence, then it is worth noting that it still exists and consists of the following points:

  • an opportunity for the body to rest and recover;
  • after a short period of abstinence, both men and women will be able to get more pleasure in bed;
  • abstinence will be useful for those who need to restore their intimate health.

The advantages of abstinence have already become clear to everyone, but whether abstinence is harmful for the young male body should still be clarified. Yes, the harm from such a practice can be quite great, because if it is quite long-term and the man does not live alone, then more harm than good will be done to his health. If you abstain for too long, then there is a possibility that even a young man can become impotent and face various diseases and pathologies of the intimate sphere.

Consequences of long-term abstinence in men

What the absence of sex for too long leads to, some representatives of the stronger sex have no idea. So, if a man does not have sex for a long time, he may suffer the following consequences:

  • various types of nervous disorders;
  • the appearance of prostate diseases;
  • sperm quality deteriorates significantly;
  • the reproductive system does not receive enough oxygen;
  • the occurrence of congestive prostatitis, decreased libido and erection;
  • development of insomnia.

Yes, the consequences of such experiments can be serious, but they are often beneficial.

When is abstinence useful?

If a man practices a month of abstinence, then there is nothing good in it. But still, there are cases when this practice turns out to be very useful. If we talk about the benefits of such a process, it is of the following nature:

  • by abstaining from frequent sex, you can achieve heights in school or at work;
  • so that sexual relationships acquire new colors;
  • if you need to spend more energy on something else;
  • if there are different benefits of the genital area in men and women.

There is no particular benefit from unjustified sexual abstinence, so it should not be practiced.

Advice! If a man still wants to take a little break from sex, then such a break should not be extended; a few days of such practice is quite enough.

Opinion of sexologists

Qualified sexologists do not approve of such practices as abstinence from sexual relations. This can be very harmful for both men's and women's health, and it is not worth the risk. Of course, the younger a man’s body, the worse this practice affects him. But if the intimate sphere of a young man can recover faster, then at an older age it is unrealistic to achieve this.

Sexual abstinence for a man is clearly not something that can bring significant benefits. That is why such restrictions should not be made frequently. Of course, there are cases when such practice is extremely necessary, but they cannot be called frequent. If the absence of sexual contact is short-lived, then there is nothing wrong with it, but prolonged torment of your own body can result in very serious consequences.

If abstinence is practiced with the goal of improving health outcomes, then this point must be approached correctly and in a timely manner. During this period of practice, a woman should definitely not try to arouse a man, because this will have an extremely negative impact on his health.

Conclusion

It is better to have a normal, regular sex life, and this will definitely be much better than some kind of abstinence. Of course, you shouldn’t have too much sex either; everything should have its own moderation, which will be the key to good intimate health in the future. Abstaining from sexual activity is not beneficial for healthy people, and doctors speak loudly about this. If you listen to the opinion of a specialist, then in terms of your sex life everything will be fine. The moment of abstinence, as well as the issue of long-term sex, needs to be approached carefully and calmly, having thought through all the pros and cons, because only then will it be possible not to cause harm.
