Knitted children's pants for beginners. How to knit pants and leggings using knitting needles according to your measurements. Master class with a detailed description of knitting children's warm pants

Collecting a dowry for a little man is a very pleasant and sensitive process. I want all children's things to be comfortable, soft, and beautiful. The materials from which they are made are also important. A great option is to complement your purchased wardrobe. Such little things have wonderful energy, made by caring hands, they are very cozy and cute, and, in addition, they are also unique in their own way - after all, this is not a production, all products are one-time!
In my master class, I will show you how to knit warm, seamless panties (well, except for the knitted gusset) for a little one.

We will need:

A skein of children's yarn (I took "Children's whim" 40% fiber, 60% wool, a beautiful apricot shade);
. Double-edged knitting needles of a suitable diameter (I have No. 3);
. Circular knitting needles (they will be needed when we knit the top of the panties).

We cast on 40 loops on one knitting needle.

If you use threads of a different diameter, the number of loops will be different. So, the first step is done - the loops are cast on.

We knit your favorite 1/1 elastic band.

After the first row, you need to distribute the loops evenly across four knitting needles (10 loops each, respectively).

Tie the ends of the threads tightly, in several knots.

And we knit another 11 rows (there are no clear rules here, the height of the elastic depends entirely on your desire).

We continue to knit our panties using purl stitches, the so-called reverse stocking stitch. So we knit nine rows.

To make the pants loose and comfortable, we need to increase the number of loops. I did this by using yarn overs after every eighth stitch. Similarly, we add loops in every tenth row, trying to do the yarn overs in a checkerboard pattern.

In total we knit 35 rows in this way (not counting the elastic). We have reached the future gusset. Now we will knit not in the round, but in traditional knit and purl rows.

We knit ten more rows, not forgetting to yarn over in the right place, and transfer the knitting to circular knitting needles.

Similarly, we knit the second leg in our panties and attach it to circular knitting needles. We knit another 35 rows (don’t forget about the “chessboard” of yarn overs, except for the last row - we don’t add anything there).

We got to the waist. Now, on the contrary, we need to reduce the excess loops. I did this: I knitted one row according to the pattern: one knit stitch, two purl stitches (however, I didn’t have exactly the same number, and in two places I got three purl stitches - there’s nothing wrong with that, everything was shortened beautifully and neatly). And then I switched to a regular 1/1 elastic band, knitting two purl ones as one.

We knit an elastic band of the required height, for me it was 24 rows, so that the small tummy was well covered. We close the loops.

Let's return to the gusset. We spread the canvas so that we get a square hole.

On one side we raise the loops and knit a small square, grabbing the sides. I closed the loops like this: I carefully moved them inside the knitting, just above the fourth side of the square hole and closed them on the wrong side.

These are the wonderful pants we got with an openwork pattern of capes.

Thread all the threads into the fabric. Soft, warm baby pants are ready!

Children's knitted leggings and pants are perhaps one of the important things for young children in the cold season. In this master class, I will analyze in detail the construction of the pattern, the sequence of knitting a leggings with a gusset, and I will also give an example of calculating loops. You can do all this according to your measurements and knit pants to the size you need, for a small child or an adult. This is the easiest option for knitting children's pants for beginners. You can calculate and knit children's pants for any age.

Necessary measurements for creating a pattern of knitted leggings (pants).

To create a pattern for a child's leggings, you need to take four measurements:

OB - hip circumference (for babies it is also the size of the waist line, so as not to sting the tummy, since the difference between them is usually small)

OH is the circumference of the leg at the ankle (or the circumference of the leg in the place where the pants or breeches will end), to this value you can add 2 cm for the freedom of fit. If you are knitting panties rather than leggings, then you need to add 4-10 cm, depending on how wide you want the pant legs to be.

BC - length from the front waist to the back waist through the groin (seat height),

DI - length of the product (from the waist to the desired length on the side).

Complete copying of the material is prohibited.

Pattern of knitted leggings with gusset.

You need to build a rectangle with sides: Product length and ½ hip circumference. Divide it in half vertically (mark the side seam line).

Along the bottom line, place half the circumference of the leg on both sides of the side seam line - for leggings. In the knitted panties pattern, set aside the leg circumference with a loose fitting allowance of 4-10 cm.

From the waist line, set down ½ the length of the seat height. Draw a perpendicular to the side seam line, we get the inner seam line. Connect the extreme points of the inner seam to the half-girth points of the leg along the bottom of the product.

Along the waist line on one side, put 2-4 cm up and connect it to the point of the side seam line - this is done to round the back of the leggings, then they will not slide when squatting (the rounder the butt, the more cm, for a diaper you need to take 4 cm)

Using this pattern you need to knit two parts.

Pattern of knitted pants (leggings).

An example of calculating loops and a step-by-step description of knitting children's pants (leggings).

Before starting work, you need to knit a sample with the pattern with which you will knit leggings (pants).

So, in my knitted pattern there are 18 stitches and 24 rows of 10 cm.

OB – 56 cm

OH – 15 cm

Let's make the necessary calculations for knitting. We round the results obtained.

Knitting starts from the bottom. For leggings, we start knitting with an elastic band, for pants we don’t need to knit an elastic band, we start knitting the pant legs right away.

Let's calculate the number of loops according to the circumference of the leg for knitting children's pants:

OH + 4 cm loose fit * 18 loops / 10 cm = (15cm+4cm) * 18 loops / 10cm = 34 loops

Number of loops that should be on the step line:

½ OB * 18 stitches / 10 cm = 28 cm * 18 stitches / 10 cm = 50 loops,

Pants length to step line:

DI – ½ BC = 63 cm – 23 cm = 40 cm,

40 cm * 24 rows / 10 cm = 96 rows.

That. for 96 rows you need to add 50 stitches - 34 stitches = 16 stitches or 8 stitches on each side,

96 row / 8 stitches = 12 rows (i.e. in every 12th row you need to add 1 loop on each side.)

Having knitted to the step line, you need to knit with a straight fabric ½ BC = 23 cm.

Then you need to knit the back (triangle No. 3 according to the pattern). Can be knitted in regular or short rows. There should be 2-4 cm along the back seam line. I’ll take the average number into account - 3 cm.

So along the back seam line there should be 3 cm * 24 rows / 10 cm = 7 rows.

Construction of a gusset pattern for knitted pants (leggings).

For adults, we build a gusset according to the drawing. To calculate the size of the gusset, you will need to measure your hip circumference.

I'll show you an example of calculations for a gusset for an adult.

We start knitting the gusset with 3 loops. We calculate the increments using triangle No. 1. We calculate the decreases using triangle No. 2.

For triangle No. 1 you need to knit:

2/3 OB / 4 = 2/3 56 cm / 4 = 9 cm

9 cm *24 rows /10 cm = 22 rows

So for 22 rows you need to add 25 stitches - 3 stitches = 22 loops (11 loops on each side)

22 rows / 11 stitches = 2 row (i.e. in every 2 row you need to add 1 loop on each side.)

In a similar way, we calculate the decreases for triangle No. 2.

1/3 OB / 4 = 1/3 56 cm / 4 = 5 cm

5 cm *24 rows /10 cm = 12 rows

14 cm * 18 loops / 10 cm = 25 loops

So for 12 rows you need to decrease 25 stitches - 3 stitches = 22 loops (11 loops on each side)

12 row / 11 stitches = 1 row (i.e. in each row you need to decrease 1 loop on each side.)

Then the knitted gusset is sewn into the leggings, observing the front-back orientation (see diagram).

The gusset in children's pants (leggings) is knitted square, measuring 5 by 5 cm. Calculations of increases and decreases are made in the same way.

That's all for today!

Happy knitting!

With the onset of winter, every mother and grandmother faces a reasonable question: “What needs to be done to keep the baby from freezing outside while walking?” And a logical answer arises: “Insulate the newborn so much that even a long stay in the fresh air takes place in comfortable warmth and convenience.” And then every mother or grandmother (and maybe even dad!) solves this problem in her own way. Someone goes to the store and buys the warm clothes the baby needs. And someone sits down in a comfortable chair and starts knitting things with long knitting needles on cold, dark evenings, which also warm them with the spiritual care of gentle, beloved hands. And today you can try knitting your baby’s pants. These are the kind of funny warm pants you should end up with for your newborn baby. And if you have a baby, just take yarn of some other, delicate color and start knitting.

These pants are knitted quite simply, so even a less experienced needlewoman can do it. You can knit from both acrylic and wool yarn, but only if the newborn is not allergic to wool.

Materials and tools:

  • 100 g of acrylic yarn of medium thickness, gray (or any color you wish);
  • some white yarn for finishing;
  • knitting needles No. 3.5 and 4, or suitable size for your yarn, 2 sizes.

Patterns:

  • Elastic band 1 x 1: knit alternately 1 knit, 1 purl. In purl rows, knit according to the pattern.
  • Facial surface: front rows - front loops, purl rows - purl loops.
  • Hollow elastic: 1 knit, 1 purl, but knit only the knit stitches and leave the purl stitches unknitted, and pull the thread through before work.

Knitting density: 10 cm x 10 cm = 18 p. x 28 r.

Description of work

The pants are knitted immediately with a belt in two identical parts - front and back, which are then sewn together along the side and crotch seams.

Front part

Using smaller knitting needles, cast on 21 stitches from different skeins for each leg. Those. For one knitting needle, to simplify and speed up the knitting process, you need to cast on 21 loops for the right trouser leg from one skein and 21 loops for the left trouser leg from another skein.

If you are knitting from one skein, you can remove the second end of the thread from the middle of the skein and start knitting the second leg from there.

Use an elastic band 1 x 1 to knit 4 cm. You can knit an elastic band 2 x 2 as you like.

Knit 4 cm, switch to larger knitting needles and continue knitting in stockinette stitch, adding 1 loop 2 times on the inside of the legs (on those sides that are closer to each other on the knitting needle) in each 26th row. You should get 23 loops for each pant leg.

At a height of 20 cm from the beginning of knitting, combine the loops of both legs. To do this, 20 cm from the beginning of the legs, you begin to knit the next row of one leg.

Having knitted it to the end, cast on 4 more loops in any way convenient for you, and continue knitting the second leg without changing the thread, i.e. You should get a single fabric of 50 loops - 23 loops x 2 + 4 loops. The thread with which you knitted the second leg must be cut, and the end secured and hidden.

To do this, you need to knit only the knit stitches in both the front and back rows, and remove the purl ones from the left knitting needle to the right one without knitting, and pull the thread through before work.

In this way, a hollow elastic band will begin to form - the canvas will split into two, because the loops are knitted through one (the front ones are knitted, and the purl ones are pulled out, remaining unknitted).

At a height of 40 cm from the beginning of knitting, close all the loops according to the pattern; to do this, you need to remove the first loop, knit the next loop according to the pattern and pull it through the removed loop. Repeat the manipulation until the end of the row.
Knit the back half of the panties with knitting needles in the same way as the front half.

Assembly

On the front part, at knee level, you can optionally embroider circles with white thread using regular stitches as in the photo.

Sew side and step seams. When sewing, you need to make sure that the seam does not connect both sides of the belt, otherwise you will not be able to thread the lace.

To do this, the seam must first be laid along the outside of the product, and then move to the inside. You can stitch with a needle and thread using a “needle forward” stitch, or with a crochet stitch using connecting posts (the so-called “pigtail”).

Make a lace from a white thread (or any other color, if desired) by twisting several threads together. You can also weave a braid or any other lace from the threads. Then thread the lace through the waistband drawstring using a safety pin.

The finished panties can be moistened and left to dry.

Completing of the work

Front and back parts

On knitting needles No. 2.5, cast on 112 (136) 144 sts and knit in circular rows with an elastic band of 2 (3) 3 cm.

Then knit in short rows. To do this, at the beginning of the circular row (= middle of the back piece), knit 6 (8) 10 stitches, turn the work, knit 12 (16) 20 stitches, turn the work.

After 5 (6) 6 cm from the starting row (measured at the beginning of the circular row), knit all the loops again with an elastic band, while in the 1st round. Yarn overs should be knitted according to the pattern together with the previous or subsequent loop to prevent holes from forming.

After 7 (8) 8 cm from the starting row (measured in the middle of the front part), switch to needles No. 3 and knit in garter stitch, while doing it in the 1st round. row evenly decrease 16 (20) 20 sts = 96 (116) 124 sts, and attach stitch markers in the middle of the back (= beginning of the circular row) and front parts of the panties. In every 4th circle. row on both sides of the markers add 5 x 1 p. = 116 (136) 144 p.

After 11 (11) 13 cm from the bar, divide the work to complete the legs and finish both parts separately. On the first 58 (68) 72 loops, begin to work the right trouser leg, set aside the remaining loops.

Right pant leg

Knit in circular rows in garter stitch on 58 (68) 72 stitches, marking the beginning of the circular row (= inside leg).

12 (12) 14 cm from the bar in every 4 (5) 6th circle. R. on both sides of the mark, decrease 10 (12) 12 x 1 p. = 38 (44) 48 p.

After 21 (24) 28 cm from the bar, knit 1 circle using knitting needles No. 2.5. knit row, evenly adding 10 (8) 8 sts.

Knit 5 (6) 6 cm with an elastic band, then bind off all loops.

Left pant leg

Knit symmetrically to the right.

Assembly

Lightly moisten the pants, stretch according to the sizes indicated on the pattern and let dry. Make a step seam.

Every baby should have warm leggings. You can knit children's pants with your own hands. They will be soaked with mother's love.

So, what is the essence of knitting pants for children? This process is not at all difficult; any mother can handle it, even if she has little experience in knitting.

Necessary materials:

  • threads;
  • knitting needles The number is determined this way: the yarn needs to be folded in half and twisted. The needles should be approximately the same thickness as the thread.

Then you need to measure the length of the child’s legs, stride, and ankle volume. Knit a sample to determine the number of stitches needed. If 20 loops are 6 cm, the thickness of the ankle is 20 cm, for knitted children's pants you need to cast on 67 loops.

We knit pants for kids ourselves

It is best if you knit two pant legs at once. From two skeins, 67 loops are cast, four centimeters need to be knitted with a 1:1 elastic band. In the last row of elastic, add from five to seven loops.

Then the pants are knitted in stockinette stitch; you can also choose a pattern. In every fourth row of the wrong side, an increase is made in one loop from each edge of the legs until the length is equal to the baby’s leg, and then an increase of two loops is made three times. Then the legs are joined and knitted until the length of the product is equal to the length of the legs.

At the end, the belt is knitted with a double elastic band. The length of the belt can be about two centimeters. After finishing the work, you need to sew the pants and put an elastic band in the waistband.

We knit pants for children without seams

If the seams on the product bother your baby, there is a way to knit pants without them. Prepare two types of knitting needles: circular, for knitting socks (there should be five of them). Knitting begins with a belt, and in the area of the hip part you need to switch to “toe” knitting needles.

If the child's volume in the belt is 56 centimeters, 186 loops will be required. You should knit until you switch to knitting the legs. It is better to knit the last five centimeters with a 1:1 elastic band. These knitted baby pants can be worn on both sides.
