Hair care products at sea reviews. How to protect your hair at sea - a review of the best products. Hair care before the sea

When going to the sea, we take with us a whole artillery of skin products: sunscreens of different SPF factors - separate for the face and body, tanning oil - to get a beautiful shade in the last couple of days, after-sun gel - to soothe irritated skin after sunbathing... Oh, yes, there is another must-have for trips to the sea - panthenol spray. What about hair protection? You definitely shouldn’t forget about them, because heat, wind, ultraviolet radiation and sea water have far from the best effect on the condition of your hair. To prevent a mop of beautiful, healthy hair from turning into a dried-out bunch of straw during your 2-week vacation, leave room in your cosmetic bag for the right “jars” for hair care.

  1. Christophe Robin's rare prickly pear seed oil spray is suitable not only for hair care, but also for the body. The spray contains only 100% natural oils designed to strengthen and protect the pigment of colored or natural hair. Use the spray after shampoo or as a styling product for the perfect wet look.
  2. Sunscreen hair spray “Aromacology Life-giving Freshness” from L’Occitane protects hair from ultraviolet radiation, softens it and gives it a mirror shine.
  3. Wella Professionals Sun Express Balm with Vitamin E deeply restores hair after sun exposure, leaving it soft and supple.
  4. Nourishing and restorative mask for hair and strengthening hair follicles Keraplant Nutri-Repair Mask from Lisap Milano is an ambulance for depleted hair. Thanks to the active components in its composition, the mask actively strengthens the hair cuticle, protecting it from external mechanical damage. With regular use, it activates hair growth.
  5. Moisturizing fluid for hair and body after exposure to the sun After Sun from System Professional helps restore the water balance of the scalp, restore lost moisture to the hair, relieves irritation, redness, dryness and flaking, plus makes it easier to comb.
  6. Shampoo, conditioner and mask for deep hair restoration “Express restoration” from This series perfectly restores even severely damaged hair, protects against the harmful effects of moisture and wind. Complete the “ritual” using Diamond Shine oil. This product is ideal for caring for thinning, porous and dry hair.
  7. The Pantene Pro-V Expert Collection Age Defy in a convenient travel format is an excellent option for those who are going to the sea for several days. The set includes shampoo, anti-aging hair thickening product, and conditioner.
  8. The Wella Pro Series “Recovery after the Sun” collection was created specifically for hair restoration after severe sun exposure. A balanced composition of products will quickly eliminate signs of damage, making curls strong and healthy again.
  9. Joico's Moisture Recovery Leave-In Moisturaizer for dry hair instantly hydrates dry, porous hair. The conditioner is very light in composition and resembles thermal water, which is especially pleasant in hot weather. After the first use, the hair will become stronger, shiny and well-groomed.
  10. Rare Oil Treatment Light fluid from Marula Oil has a lightweight texture and is designed specifically for fine hair. While regular oils can cause dehydration when they evaporate, marula oil microspheres continue to nourish and protect hair for a long time.
  11. If you are going on vacation to hot countries, the After-Sun Replenishing Masque from Paul Mitchell simply must become your companion on this journey. The product is truly magical: it will protect your hair from UV rays and help maintain the brightness of the color, normalize the moisture balance and return moisture to sun-dried hair, and also make combing easier and make your hair smoother and more manageable.

A couple of years ago I went to the sea with blonde curls. Just ten days later she returned with “straw” on her head. I'm not exaggerating at all! When I combed my hair, my hair fell off like autumn leaves. There were two reasons for this: firstly, I bleached my hair before going to sea, and secondly, during my vacation I did not protect my hair from exposure to the sun and sea salt. It took me exactly the next two years to restore my hair. Experience, the son of difficult mistakes, suggests that it is better to spend money on good cosmetics before your vacation than to cry over scorched tow after. This is especially true for those who dye their hair.

Some simple tips on hair care on vacation from hairdressers and the five best, according to Cosmopolitan magazine (and in my opinion, also quite good - I tried some myself) cosmetic lines for summer hair care - in this post.

To begin with, a few pseudo-scientific horror stories. Yesterday I visited the hairdresser, she told me how hair, the sun and salty sea water interact approximately, so that it would be clear what you need to protect yourself from.

Ultraviolet rays dehydrate hair and gradually destroy both natural and artificial pigments. As a result, undyed hair fades, and dyed hair loses its color brightness, becomes dry and dull. Hair is approximately 70% keratin, which is based on protein enriched with sulfur, iron, chromium, copper, zinc, and manganese. In addition, hair contains vitamins A, B, PP, C, H, lipids, pigment and water. The sun's rays “stretch out” all this, as a result of which the hair loses both flexibility and volume. Salt water washes proteins out of your hair, but that's not the worst thing. Sea salt settles under the scales, dries out in the sun, and salt crystals begin to scratch and destroy the hair shaft. This is why hair dried out at sea splits and falls off. In addition, in the summer you have to wash your hair more often, and this is an additional factor that deprives the hair of its elasticity. This is the kind of attack our curls have to withstand!

To help your hair at sea:

1. Do not dye your hair before traveling to the south. Any coloring, even with the most gentle means, is stressful for the hair. Coloring plus the sun is a double whammy. It is better to do a salon oil wrap. Last year, before going to the seaside, I did lamination. This is a controversial procedure, it is not suitable for many, but lamination personally saved my hair then.

2. Be sure to use special moisturizing shampoos (or better yet, care series, about them below) with nutrients that bind moisture and prevent hair from drying out. It’s good if the composition contains keratin and oils.

3. Try not to dry your hair with a hairdryer or use styling products, do not comb wet hair, use conditioner and oil for the ends of your hair.

4. Before going into the sea or pool, tie your hair into a tight bun and wet it with fresh running water. It will fill the cuticle and make the hair more resistant to salt. After each bath, be sure to rinse your hair in running water and do not let the salt on your hair dry in the sun.

5. Use a spray with UV protection, or cover your head with a hat/scarf.

And now five cosmetic “solar” series, which are recommended by overseas experts. I repeat, I tried some of this. If you have your own observations, please share! Sometimes friendly advice helps a lot in such matters!

What to put in your suitcase to keep your hair from falling out at sea?

Moroccanoil

The brand produces, in my opinion, simply the Queen of Masks. Expensive, but your hair instantly comes to life.

Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine spray contains argan oil, vitamins A, F, E, and a sunscreen is also present. This cosmetics instantly nourishes and smoothes hair without weighing it down.

I use oil for the ends of my hair all the time, regardless of the time of year. I tried the shampoo. I personally liked it, but it seemed a little expensive. Recently I found a more affordable and, in my opinion, no less effective alternative - moisturizing shampoo and conditioner with macadamia nut oil from the company Aussie.

By the way, Moroccanoil produces travel kits for the price of two products.

Convenient for vacation.

Biolage Sunsorials from MATRIX

Some hairdressing salons operate on Matrix. Personally, I haven’t tested this cosmetics anywhere except in a hairdresser, but they write that the “solar” series smoothes and nourishes hair well. The basis of the technology is sunflower seed extract, vitamin E and ceramides. The series includes shampoo, mask and protective spray.

Wella Professionals Sun

The Sun line is five products for hair care before, during and after sun exposure. The advantage of the line is that there is a protective spray for fine and normal hair and a cream for coarse hair. I used the spray, my hair becomes very soft after it, the aroma is pleasant. There is also a universal moisturizing cream for hair and skin in the series, I didn’t dare buy it, but they write that you shouldn’t be afraid of this versatility.

SOLAR SUBLIME from L’Oreal Professionnel

They write that the distinctive feature of this series is the professional (that is, optimal) concentration of a protective filter, which protects the hair structure from the aggressive effects of the sun, salt water and wind. There are two types of after-sun shampoos: for normal and colored hair. An excellent hairdresser once told me that if you are in doubt whether to buy shampoo for colored hair or regular shampoo, choose one for colored hair, because it moisturizes as much as possible. So we take it for painted ones, the main thing is that it does not weigh it down. The series includes sun protection milk specifically for those with unruly hair.

Kerastase Soleil

This line is especially famous for its spray oil (pictured on the right), which protects hair from fading. The trick of this spray is that it moisturizes, protects and at the same time adds shine to your hair. If you spray it on your hand, you will see small golden particles that probably reflect the sun's rays. Hair looks very well-groomed after it.

How do you take care of your hair in summer? Maybe you know some good folk remedies for restoring elasticity and shine?

Hi all! I want to tell my story, or rather the story of my hair.

From birth I have hair of medium density and medium thickness, my color is dark brown, with a red undertone. The scalp is of normal type, the hair type is also normal.

Since childhood, I had long hair just below my butt and it always infuriated me, it took a long time to dry, it was painful to comb, it constantly got tangled, and when I walked around with my hair down, it was everywhere.

But at about 12-13 years old, my mother cut off her gorgeous hair into a very short haircut (she had long, down to her butt, dark brown hair, even closer to black and this is her natural hair color)

And I wanted the little monkey too, I always dreamed of punishment! And my mother fulfilled my dream, first they cut my hair into a bob, and then into a fashionable short cut (if it weren’t okay).

And I walked like this until I was 15 years old. And then I just stopped cutting my hair. My hair grew at a normal speed and by about the age of 16 I had hair below my shoulder blades (I periodically cut the ends) and again, I wanted something to change and I cut my hair into a bob, and even some kind of ragged hair and began to dye my hair with henna.

And the hair grew, strengthened with henna, so to speak. Yes, then I really like the result, a safe method of coloring, and my hair was thicker after it.

Then I saw paint in my grandmother’s bathroom and it said light brown on it, and a very curious girl took it and painted it!

I don’t remember what kind of dye it was, but after it my hair remained alive and brightened.

And then (in winter) tinted balms came into my life. TONIC! Famous tonic!

Which gave me a breathtaking shine, stained everything around and quickly washed off.

By the way, it’s strange, but it came off completely, without stains.

and by the age of 18 everything is fine with my hair, still fine.

And then I went to university. (in the photo you can see the regrown bleached hair, it looks like a modern fashionable ombreee)

And that’s where it all started.

I dyed my hair almost twice a month, washed my hair with only one shampoo, no conditioners, spray masks.

And in two years I reduced my hair to this state. Frequent dyeing with household dyes and henna.

It was on April 13, 2014 that I rethought my hair care, but not completely. Why?

Because I stopped often dyeing my hair with household dyes, and this is, of course, a plus, but I started dyeing my hair with henna and basma, which is natural! In short, I dried dry hair. But I’ve already given up both the hair dryer and the straightener (I couldn’t give up the hair dryer)

It was during this growing period that I got a sort of SOS kit to save my hair.

1. Any fatty silicone shampoo (glis kur, elsev, and so on)

2. Balm from the same series (I have some kind of mania for products from the same series)

3. Mask Garnier Ultra Du Avocado and Shea (so fatty, very silicone) and quite economical. Perhaps the best of the masses on the market

4. Elsev extraordinary oil with a golden cap. It lasted me for a year, but I used it intermittently because I got used to it after 5 months of using my hair.

And every month I cut off 1 cm of the ends (renewed the cut)

In May 2014, I dyed my hair with permanent dye dark brown, this 4.0 turned out almost black on me, then in July I repeated the dyeing and did not dye my hair again until mid-September. And due to the fact that I nourished my hair with silicone products and stopped frequent coloring, my hair began to come to life, but was still porous like a dandelion.

During this time, I took a course of Pentovit. 30 days, 3 times a day, 3 tablets.

Took a course of nicotinic acid

30 days, every evening I rubbed one ampoule along the partings, this provoked accelerated growth and growth of new hair.

I didn’t change my care.

Then I bought a keratin series from Belita. The shampoo and mask, the balms I chose were mediocre. I replaced the leave-in washes with green serum from Avon and Garnier Sos Recovery.

Here is the result of my work for the year.

Let's summarize this year.

  • After my hair was dried out and began to break, I started thinking about proper combing of my hair, I bought a copy of the tangle teaser at a fixed price and began to comb my hair correctly without injuring it. Those. I comb the ends first and go higher and higher.
  • I stopped combing my hair when it was wet, but only when it was damp and only with leave-in combs. I put a couple of drops of leave-in on my palm, rub it between my fingers and start combing my hair with my FINGERS, thereby distributing the product along the length WITHOUT TOUCHING THE ROOTS!
  • I bought a real tangle teaser, it is more gentle and gentle on your hair.
  • I tried my best to cut off the bad ends.
  • I regularly used balms or conditioners and applied an ultra-dou length mask at least twice a week.
  • I started dyeing my hair less often.
  • Took a course of vitamins
  • I took a course of nicotinic acid in ampoules (see above)

In the summer I went to the sea (for almost a month), and at the sea we know the aggressive sun and salty water. Both are death to hair!

And in order to protect my hair as much as possible at sea, this set came with me.
